Illustrations of Washington DC
I'm Roya, the illustrator behind Good Washington.
Since 2016, I've been archiving Washington, DC, brick by brick.
Over the years, this project has connected me with small business owners, longtime Washingtonians, and people with deeply meaningful stories about the homes they've lived in, loved, and moved away from. It is such an honor to hear these stories and help preserve those memories in ink.
Whether I'm illustrating a beloved neighborhood restaurant, shop, or a home filled with years of memories, every Good Washington drawing is a love letter to this city and the places that make it special.
So… cheers to the brunch at Florida Avenue Grill that hit the spot, the bouncy dance floor at Wonderland, the window seat at Looking Glass, the tight corners of Capitol Hill Books, vibing with the crowd at 9:30 Club, and every other place that makes us feel lucky to call this city home.
Washington is a very good city, with very good places and very, very good people.
